George Marshall
Was an American statesman and soldier in World War II. Named chief of staff in World War II. Was responsible for exponentially increasing the size of the U.S. Army, and he helped devise Operation Overload in 1944. After the war, he served as Harry Truman's secretary of state. He invented the Marshall plan, an economic recovery program that effected European countries. |
